Plotting a trend line on a Forex chart gives very valuable information.
Not only the trend line will show a current trend (direction) of the price move, it will also depict points of support and resistance levels for market price.
Trend lines - forex trends
There are some types of trend lines in technical analysis. They are the followings:

Ascending trend
Ascending trend channels are a useful tool due to their ability to predict overall changes in trend. As long as prices remain within the ascending trend channel, the upward trend in price can be expected to continue. As soon as prices exceed either trendline forming the channel, however, a strong signal either to buy or to sell is generated. A break through the upper trendline generates a strong buy signal, while a break through the lower trendline generates a strong sell signal.

Long-term trends: Currency markets often move in visible long-term trends. Although currencies do not have an annual growing season like physical commodities, business cycles do make themselves felt. Cycle analysis looks at longer-term price trends that may rise from economic or political trends.
Descending trend
Each time Forex rate achieves lower value - price movement, at which each subsequent local maximum and local minimum below previous.

Reversal trend
Change of a trend (reversal) is expressed in change of a rate movement direction after a break point (penetration point). However it should be distinguished from a simple non-standard rate deviation which doesn't lead to change of a trend.
The break point forms a sell signal for the confirmed change of an ascending trend, the confirmed change of a descending trend forms a buy signal on Forex.
The best confirmation of change of a trend can be received when the former resistance line becomes a support line of a trend and on the contrary.
